Company description
Active Worlds is an online 3D virtual world with users from all over the world. Users can build almost anything they want, explore what others have built, go shopping, play games and chat with other users.
The company was started in January 1997 with the idea of becoming a 3D-equivalent of a 2D web browser. The idea never really took off, but the ActiveWorlds Browser plugin is still around and enables users to be a part of the Active Worlds “universe.”
The company says they get 1,000,000 hits to their universe server per day and have more than 70,000 registered “citizens” to date. Other virtual worlds include Kaneva, Second Life and There.com.

Active Worlds offers over 1000 worlds to build and explore in (a few of which have been made to promote movies). In the worlds, users can build almost anything they want, explore what others have built, go shopping and play games.

Founder, President, CEO & Director
39, is the founder of the Company and has been president, chief
executive officer and a director of the Company since its organization
in January 1997. Mr. Noll attended Massachusetts College of Art and
majored in the Fine Arts.
Chairman, CFO & Director
44, has been chairman of the Board of Directors, chief financial officer and a director of the Company since May 1997. Mr. McCormick is a graduate of Kent State University, Ohio.
