Campus Destinations is the premier mapping and informational services company for college campuses. Campus Destinations mission is “to save students time and money” by eliminating inefficient ways of allocating their schedule and funds and creating an interactive portal that enables them to profit from the correction of this externality.
Campus Destinations combines a number of Web 2.0 technologies to provide web-based solutions in order to save students, faculty, and visitors of universities both time and money. Currently, Campus Destinations offers university students, faculty, alumni, and visitors:
* Dynamic mapping technology of pedestrian walkways along university campuses, complete with highlighted maps and easy-to-use directions. Directions can be tailored based on safety rating and handicap accessibility.
* Reviews and ratings of popular student-friendly businesses including restaurants, spas, salons, and more. Users can earn rewards for posting highly-rated content.
* Up-to-date information on university landmarks, athletic venues, and student hotspots.
Campus Destinations, originally Devil Destinations, was founded by Arup Banerjee and Scott Siegel in May 2005. They had a vision of combining on-campus mapping, local restaurant reviews, and exclusive university information into a comprehensive student web solution. In Spring 2006, the website posted its first text version of its signature mapping technology. Later that year, the website unveiled Beta 2.0, featuring an upgraded mapping algorithm with dynamic maps and its restaurant review/post portal. On March 30, 2006 Devil Destinations became incorporated in the state of North Carolina. To reflect the original vision of a comprehensive student web solution for universities across the country, the name of the company was changed to Campus Destinations. Meanwhile Campus Destinations began to expand their model to other universities, including Wake Forest and the University of North Carolina.
Campus Destinations also strives to establish relationships with other college-based companies in order to provide the best possible service to the university student population. The Campus Destinations team software team specializes in using Web 2.0 technologies to create platforms with both customization and scalability in mind.
Campus Destinations is the online information hub for university students nationwide. Campus Destinations is committed to establishing professional relationships with its clients and affiliates, as well as providing the best online experience for university students.
