Mobile Business Application Gap

While the market for mobile apps is here and now, there is a conspicuous gap for mobile business apps  that scale.  Less than 2% of iPhone apps are in the business category.  Many of these 2000 apps are redundant, very few collect real business data, and even fewer can be actively customized.

A Simple Solution

Canvas solves this problem with a platform in the cloud that even an administrative assistant can use to publish a custom mobile app  in just minutes.  Canvas apps collect valuable business information, and they typically replace a paper form or survey filled out on a clipboard.  Since the service launched in July, the Canvas community has published over 200 custom applications now available in our application library.  With capital and execution, Canvas will quickly offer a growing array of  mobile business apps.

Business Model

Canvas is an annuity business.  We make money on software subscriptions.  Our customers can get started for free, then pay only $.50 for each form they submit on our service.    For $20 per user/ month or $210 per user/ year, a mobile user enjoys unlimited use of our service.  Our customers can configure and monitor a “paper meter” on our web site to see how much they save with each transaction Canvas processes.  Most of our customers find that Canvas is less than the cost of the paper it replaces, and they immediately make money through the additional productivity they gain from real-time mobile data collection and collaboration.

Competitive advantage

The Competition

Competitive Wins

Our customers chose Canvas over entrenched mobile software companies with specialized solutions targeted at specific industries.  Canvas has proven that we can disrupt the market for mobile software with an application platform that is quick and easy to use.  Our customers typically configure and deploy their mobile applications themselves in less than an hour, while our competitors typically require 3-6

Differentiation

Canvas offers a simpler, faster and more economical mobile application platform than most other mobile business providers and we offer more flexible and robust industry solutions than niche mobile enterprise solution providers.   Even more direct competitors ave no vision of making content (i.e. the Canvas Application Store) the heart of their offering, nor is their solution as powerful or as easy to use.
