Let's face it, even though marketers aren't fully embracing video advertising, let alone mobile video advertising - wireless is the future.

Transpera, a platform to monetize mobile video, on Thursday announced that it raised $8.25 million in debt and equity. Existing investor Flybridge Capital Partners and new investor Labrador Ventures led the round, while existing shareholders Intel Capital and First Round Capital also participated.

Earlier this month, the comapny announced deployments for MTV Networks, Discovery Communications, AccuWeather and the Travel Channel. Ford plans to launch a mobile video campaign of its 2009 Lincoln MKS on the Transpera platform.

As of the first quarter of this year, 91 million Americans (or more than a third of all mobile phone subscribers in the U.S) ownen a video-capable phone, according to Three Screen Report on Television. Additionally, 95 million phone subscribers have mobile Internet as part of their data plan.
