Skipping the middle man seems to be Avventa's motto in the digital advertising world.  With a team of rapidly growing digital artists, and now a school for training aspiring digital media creators, Avventa has landed $20 million in funding.  The cash injection was led by TZP Group, an investment firm out of New York.

Digital production for interactive campaigns can usually be a time consuming process requiring large teams of flash programmers, animators, and web designers.

Avventa, claims they can offer cost effective solutions under tight deadlines.  Avventa's services include online advertising, sitelets, websites, emails, and data analytics for ad agencies and online campaigns. Founded in 2005, Charleston, S.C-based Avventa has grown to over 500 employees.

Working with brands like Apple, Blackberry, Yahoo, and ESPN, naming a few, definitely brings about a solid competitor in the world of interactive advertising.

Avventa, who is headquarted in headquarted in Charleston, South Carolina, also runs a University in Costa Rica which is now teaching over 1000 students digital production skills.

TZP Group, who led the investment, expects Avventa to rapidly expand its services globally.

Very interesting that what appears to be essentially an agency business can land that kind of investment in this climate. They must have a very impressive set of clients, projects, (and most importantly) services.

Also, I'm giving TZP the award for the least inspirational fund name with the most inspirational story behind it: http://tinyurl.com/9ru2w4
