It seems like wherever you go you are being hit in the face with new cell phone technology--whether it is the latest smartphone, or operating system.  Many of us have a preference on what operating system is on our computer, but it is looking like the same will soon be the case for cell phones as well.

Not to say your current office phone system may be exactly what you need, but especially for business owners it is imperative you stay up to date on new technology that could aid in streamlining communication for your company.

The newest OS system to hit the scene is Windows Phone Series 7. This operating system is Microsoft’s answer to competing with the iPhone OS and Android.  Both of these OS’ have made a splash in the smartphone arena, and are constantly updating their systems to provide the best for their users.

Microsoft’s past mobile OS, the WinMos seemed to be a flop, and is the reason they are leaving the word mobile from their newest OS.  They are trying to rebrand themselves and one way they are doing this is by not wanting to associate this OS with past flops.

For business owners the best attribute this OS brings is the integration of Microsoft Office, which is a staple in many office settings.  If you have employees who travel or work from remote locations, this could be beneficial for them—especially since they can create and send documents on their phone.

Although smartphones aren’t replacing laptops just yet, devices like the iPad and other tablets could be making the integration sooner than later. Traditional phone systems could soon be a thing of the past, and it is up to you as a business owner to stay up to date on new business technology.
