Full bio

I do my best to be helpful and support founders who create breakout technology products.

In particular, I like to help founders improve their go-to-market strategies by focusing on customer development, product design, user/customer experience, user/customer acquisition, web marketing / content strategy and sales & bizdev strategies.

I'm the co-founding partner of Venture51 (http://venture51.com), a modern venture capital firm that has invested in 50+ companies including Betable, Ripple, Urban Remedy, Betaworks, Getaround, Life360, Space Monkey and eToro.

In 2008, I co-founded Republic Project (http://republicproject.com), a cloud-based rich media ad platform which was acquired by DG MediaMind in 2013.

Got my start as a software marketing and sales guy at Interact Commerce (makers of SalesLogix and ACT! - sold to Sage Software in 2001). After my over-extended stay at Sage (corproate boredom) I left to be part of the founding team at Flypaper (sold to Trivantis in 2011), as a founding executive charged with growth.

Venture51 is a modern early-stage venture firm uniquely focused on investing in the most promising founders in high-growth markets at the “Traction Round” growth stage. Venture51 is creating a new type of investment vehicle for early stage startups by bridging the gap between initial seed money and the traditional venture capitalists. Founded in 2008 and re-invented in 2010, the firm invests in high technology companies and has made 50+ investments to date, including: Betable, Ripple, Urban Remedy, Betaworks, Getaround, Life360, Space Monkey and eToro.

Professional interests: early-stage startups (Information Technology), venture capital, lean startup models, startup metrics, asymmetric strategic planning, user/customer experience, web marketing, content marketing, lean CRM, bizdev 2.0, community building and web analytics.

Personal interests: free-skiing, golf, skateboarding with my kids, surfing, traveling and spending time with my family.
