  • There are no "born on" dates in Canada. We drink them too fast to bother :)

  • As a Canadian, we regularly have in-depth conversations with our beer. Just this weekend, my Steamwhistle Pilsner told me it had been on Twitter since 1973, and Facebook since 1954; American beer seems to be quite behind. Then again, maybe that was just the beer talking. (P.S. - That XChange service looks pretty cool...)

  • Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? As for Google Ventures, it makes tons of sense - they're instantly a top-tier VC (who WOULDN'T want to be funded by them??) and it's a great way to sustain the high growth rates they're used to.

  • March Madness on the iPhone is pretty sweet. How is the quality? I think it's premature to say Google won't renew. Sure, given the current ad market and rates, Google might not renew, but with 15 months left, a lot can change! The market can recover, or they could renew at a (slightly) lower rate, but it's hard to believe they'd just abandon all that inventory. Either way, nice to see you out from behind a desk :)

  • I'm not so sure I agree with Fred's assertion about college. There are a lot of benefits to going that help an entrepreneur - not the least of which is building independence. Aside from that, most of the entrepreneurs he's talking about at least WENT to college - they just dropped out because they'd achieved success! People shouldn't get it in their head that it makes no difference whether they do post-secondary or not; I met my (incredibly smart) cofounders in University, and I'd be nowhere without them. Besides, there would be no Facebook if Mark hadn't gone to University!!

  • Great new show! The new homepage is excellent - much more direct and less cluttered, and creates a direct call to action. Interesting dichotomy between the SF Chronicle and Kindle - both the traditional printed word and the modern version. Too bad the old school version didn't see the light (as Rich already commented) and adjust accordingly. Hopefully others won't follow the same path to oblivion.

  • Thanks guys! On the subject of user-edited lyrics, it's something we'd love to do but have copy-protection mandates from the publishers that prevent it. we're doing some workarounds, but it's not ideal. On everything else, just wait and see!

  • For the record, IF we raise money (which we probably won't - we don't need it), it'd be no more than $1M. We wouldn't know how to spend more than that :) Overall, great show, good advice, and a lot of the suggestions are already underway, just not launched yet! Darryl
