Although IGN is visited by 12.7 million people per month, I'd be interested in more detailed analysis of web-site visitors. My guess is, a significant 12.7MM people are average users who want to read review/watch trailer and that's about it.

In my opinion Yelp made a right choice. The service is getting more and more popular (check Google Trends), and there are no signs of slow down.

It seems that Eventbrite is a nice hybrid of Ticketmaster and Evite. Latter has definitely missed a great niche (management is probably kicking itself for missed opportunity). Also, although Eventbrite caters semi-professional events, the service is free for free events. Again, poor Evite has lost some of its customers because of the free feature.

First of all, how positive is facebook's "cash flow"? "This is important to us because it sets Facebook up to be a strong independent service for the long term," said someone who received $200MM few months ago from foreign investor.

I asked one of my professors, PhD from Harvard, about solid record of Harvard's endowment. He said the university hires best money managers and offers great performance rewards. I am surprised those managers didn't hedge their bets.

I like Bing a lot, but they need to work on UI: sponsored sites take too much space, 3 columns look unappealing to me, and all links have same color style that takes attention off of results.

"The managers are pegging the problem on private equity and hedge fund investments." lol. They had 1000s of investments to choose from; they risked and picked wrong ones. It was managers' fault and not PE/HF.

Going online is by far the cheapest, most convenient, and most entertaining way of spending time for your average American. Unfortunately, no one reads books these days. TVs get boring after a while, and going out is out of question.

Curved waist makes complete sense! I just realized that all of my belts are curved just as Andy mentioned. I really like classic, yet original style. Plus, there is nothing to lose with amazing return policy (free shipping both ways). Also props for having discounts for public servants. I'd love to try one of their pants, but I am afraid my thighs might be too big.

10% of twitters twit 90% of twits (hopefully that made sense), also a lot of people use twitter just to follow their favorite celebrities. Also, I think there is a good chance that sooner or later twitter will slowly transform itself into simple mix of myspace and facebook. Either way it'll be interesting to observe competition between twitter and facebook.

Myspace lost its momentum. A lot of my college friends closed/abandoned their myspace accounts. Facebook attracts more educated and mature crowd; the owners of myspace need to come up with good incentives to get that crowd back to myspace.

Chrome will easily beat Safari in the next year. I cannot wait for stable OS X version, but there is a lot to do for Google. I was designing a website and I noticed Chrome (Win) does not like large fonts: AA is messed up once font-size > 30px. I was not impressed with the latest Safari release, but unfortunately, only Safari supports bookmarks sync with iPhone. Apple is too greedy to let other browser sync bookmarks with iPhone.

While I agree with this article, I think brands need to use already established platforms (facebook, myspace). I'd rather have all my favorite brands in one place, than register on 4-5 different websites. And by using I mean constant engagement with fans on a personal level. Unfortunately, Facebook does not have fully developed "Fans <-> Pages" system (ie no notifications, easy to use discussion boards, voting polls, etc.)
